If you truly want to be 2-3 miles from all the things you mentioned, I would recommend staying closer to Louisville. Your best option really depends on how important each of the requirements you listed are to you. He/she wants to stay close to the city and Madison is at least an hour drive from downtown Louisville, and still probably 30 minutes or more from Scottsburg. ![]() Madison is pretty and all, but I wouldn't suggest it for the OP. At least, you are closer to a mid-sized city this way. They are established cities but are genuinely nice. ? I hear the places of Clarksville, Jeffersonville, and New Albany are nice but they don't really act as a typical suburb. Not sure if it is what you are interested in. I hear Madison, IN is one of the nicest small towns to live in Indiana.
